In 1968 I explained: Eroticon is dedicated to the color of the material. The analytical view of that time treated film purely as material. Film could be be projected forwards, backwards, from above or even upside down. I see the film different today. The sublime comes from the experience of seeing a monochrome area that absorbes all sensory perception. It is not a physical surface as in Marc Rothko’s paintings, but a disembodied light. Eroticon sublim is analog cinema.
